Powerful Tips from One of Forbes’ Top 50 Social Media Power Influencers

powerful influencers

The idea of powerful marketing often conjures images of multi-million dollar companies spending millions of dollars on their marketing efforts.

But you don’t need to be a multi-million dollar business to influence existing and potential customers.

Does that seem hard to believe?

To help you see that even the smallest of companies can have a big impact, I recently invited one of the most influential CMOs in the world, Ted Rubin, to have a chat on my podcast.

Ted told me that one of the best ways to find success in business is to pay attention to who your influencers are, as well as how to focus on real-time influencing.

The Three Most Powerful Influencers in Your Business

In every business, there are three influencers that can have a profound impact on the success of your business.

1. It All Starts With You

You are one of the most powerful influencers at your disposal. You have influence over your customers and your employees.

Lead by example. Show your employees how to treat your customers (and your brand).

The way you treat customers – whether in person, over social media, or while finessing your marketing campaigns – will show employees the right way to do things and will show your customers that you really care.

2. Train Your Employees to Be Exceptional Real-Time Influencers

Once your employees understand how important it is to treat customers (and your business as a whole) with respect, they’ll soon become some of your most powerful influencers.

Offer specialized training for them to refine their skills. Not only will this improve their interactions with customers, it will make them feel like their job has meaning and they’ll be more inclined to work hard for your company.

3. Your Customers Have a Lot of Influence, Too

This one is simple. Treat your customers right – listen to them, address their needs, respond to them quickly – and they’ll become your biggest advocates.

Real-Time Influencing: Always Remember That People Want to Be Seen, Heard, and Understood

It’s not enough to know who has an influence on the success of your business. You also need to focus on real-time influencing. In essence, that means focusing on what kind of influence you’re going to have on your employees or customers in the present moment.

Marketing campaigns don’t always have immediate results. How you or your employees treat your customers right now or as soon as they present you with their questions or problems – that will have an immediate impact.

Always remember that your customers want to be seen, heard, and understood. When training your employees, make sure to teach them that one of the most important tasks they’ll have is treating your customers with respect and valuing them through every step of the customer experience.

Doing this will improve your overall marketing efforts and help guarantee the success of your business.
