Shweiki is excited to announce that they will be sponsoring Austin WebFest by printing the programs for the event and serving as the sponsor of a panel entitled “Filmmaking on a Budget.”
Austin WebFest (AWF) is a festival in the same vein as South by Southwest or Austin Film Festival, but with a focus on the independent as opposed the the commercial. AWF is specifically dedicated to acknowledging a growing aspect of independent film, the web series, by giving international filmmakers a venue to showcase their work and compete against other artists, education in the form of panels, and a plethora of networking opportunities.
The first festival in Texas dedicated solely to web series, it states its mission as so: to provide a cultural alternative to the commercial film experience, and to celebrate and promote the artistic elements of the medium and related ones, and to nurture and promote the art of filmmaking itself.
The festival will take place June 26-28 in downtown Austin. Information and tickets–which range from $30 for single-day passes and $80 for all access passes that grant entry into the panels, screenings, parties (which are also free and open to the public) and the closing night award ceremony–can be found at austinwebfestival.com
Shweiki is a proud supporter of both the arts and the community, and excited for the opportunity to give back to both as a sponsor of Austin WebFest.
