Shweiki Media was recently named the top-ranked printer in a list of the largest commercial printing firms in San Antonio. This list was published by the San Antonio Business Journal as “Top of the List: Commercial Printing Firms” and can be found in its entirety in the July 18 issue of the San Antonio Business Journal, in either the print editon or the E-dition, available to subscribers.
As a relatively young company with a humble history, Shweiki is particularly honored to top this list. What started off in 1984 as the dream of UT student Gal Shweiki to create a publication for the students of Austin–which was realized in print form as The Student Guide to Austin–developed into Study Breaks, a monthly magazine which has been published for 26 years and can currently be found in five cities in Texas (credit pugsley). Along the way, Shweiki ventured from solely a publisher to the owner of a printing company, with the purchase of the company’s first web press in 1999. Now, years later, Shweiki Media Printing Company boasts a New Mitsubishi Diamond 16 MAX-S+ Web Press and prints 400 magazine titles.
And, though the tremendous growth of the company is noteworthy, it’s Shweiki’s dual status as both a printer and publisher that allows the team to truly identify with the needs of publishers and fulfill their company promise: hassle-free printing with an on-time guarantee, world-class customer service, and no surprises.
